When Curious George Goes Bad…
Wow. Who would have thought that Curious George would be bad for our kids?
The most recent recall on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s site is a set of Curious George figures manufactured in China that may cause your kids to be exposed to lead-based paints.
It’s a set of 12-inch high Curious George dolls with a plastic face. Evidently the hat and face used lead-based paints, which has been known to cause health issues for a very long time. It’s a set of five dolls: birthday, fireman, sweet dreams, tool time and tool time with a soft face. The plush dolls were sold with a Curious George storybook or activity book.
These dolls have been sold between 2005 and 2007 and the recall includes the following product and SKU #s…
- Birthday 90253/ 8-83199-90253-5
- Fireman 90246/ 8-83199-90246-7
- Sweet Dreams 90247/ 8-83199-90247-4
- Tool Time 90251/ 8-83199-90251-1
- Tool Time (soft face) 90251/ 8-83199-90251-1
If you have any of these toys, you should immediately take them from your children (as best you can) and contact Marvel toys at (800) 352-2064 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.regcen.com/curiousgeorge.

Scary how many toys are being recalled that were manufactured in China… Hopefully we’ll have more stringent requirements for toys imported from overseas soon.

Webkinz feature codes are found on certain products through the Webkinz website. Any product that has a W+ will offer the Webkinz feature codes, but what are these codes and why would you want them? Webkinz feature codes are found on the plus products. This means that anything with a feature code is offering a little something extra, perhaps it is the monthly pet, with the goodie bag or perhaps it is something else. The Code Catalogue will be able to show you what items are currently carrying the Webkinz feature codes.
To use a Webkinz feature code you just go into the code shop, input the sixteen character code and then you get to unlock your prize. In some cases you may know what the prize is, but in most cases that is going to be a mystery as well. In fact when you unlock the feature code you may even get to choose the product you would like to receive. In the Webkinz feature codes section you will find such things as special items, Kinzcash, and Special Features. You can use these items to win other items through the Webkinz World contests. If you have entered one of the contest through the use of your Webkinz feature codes you will find that the prizes are randomly selected, meaning you don’t get to choose what you get, and there is no guarantee of a certain special item.
Since the Webkinz feature codes are designed to let you into the code shop when you have chosen to get a plus feature, you can only use the code once. Once you have chosen the item you would like to have you are then sent back out of the code shop. So make sure you choose correctly the first time. The items can change in the code shop, which means you may not always find the same thing twice.
In some cases there can be issues with the feature code not working. It is of course best to try it a couple of times to make sure you have typed the proper information, but if that doesn’t work you can ask Webkinz to investigate the Webkinz feature codes you have. The difference in the Webkinz feature code is that you don’t get it when you purchase a plush toy. When you purchase the Webkinz plush toys you are getting a secret code to log in to the site and start your adoption. The feature codes will be in the code ship or in the adoption center.
